NO Texting Law for USA Commercial Truckers, Truck Drivers

A federal rule that bans texting while driving a commercial vehicle went into effect Wed, Oct. 27 2010.

The fines are hefty, up to $2,750 for the driver and up to $11,000 for the carrier. Texting while driving is a driver responsible offense and is worth 10-points under CSA 2010, a Very Severe Offense. 

OOIDA, the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association had a strong hand in crafting the legislation and a few exceptions were made.

Waking Up At The Track

Rain has washed the track at the Charlotte Motor Speedway so we will have a green track for Nationwide series qualifying this morning. There is a 20% chance for rain today in the Charlotte area then the rest of the weekend is looking good as far as the weather goes.
